I really like this photo taken by Hans Strand. I really like this photo because of the texture. He captured the texture of the rock so well and it makes me think that I can almost feel how the texture feels. I also like the lighting. The lighting is coming from the left of the photo and illuminating each little part of the rock. I also like this photo because it makes me think about how this rock came to be that texture. I think that rain and maybe ocean wore the rock away until it became that texture. This photo was taken by Ruth Bernhard. I really like this photo for multiple reasons. One is the shadow that the trees make. The trees makes a really awesome shadow across the tall grass and it makes me think of summer and whimsical things. I also like how there is two-thirds grass and one-third tree because it makes you focus on the shadow and then notice the trees. The sunshine shining through behind the trees creates a really cool lighting for the picture. This photo was taken by Mark Seliger. I really like this photo. First it is a picture of Kurt Cobain, who was the lead singer of the influential 90's band, Nirvana. This photo also captures Cobain showing his angst and desperation and really opening up his emotion in this picture. This pictures captures his eyes in a way that you could look into them and really understand Cobain. I also really like how the photo is taken in black and white. I think it makes the photo more raw and unguarded. If you want to see more pictures that Mark Seliger has taken, you can click on this link: http://www.markseliger.com/

I really like this photo by Henri Cartier-Bresson. I like this photo for multiple reasons. One is how the trees framing the path are a little bit off-center. I also like how the road looks like it is going on forever and the trees make it seem that the road leads to a new world. He is using the rule of thirds because he has two-thirds sky and one-third land. The road also creates movement in the photo. For me it looks like the trees on either side of the road converge into one big tree protecting the road. I really like this photo taken by Jean Gaumy. I really like how this picture is kind of "in the moment". He was on a train when he took this picture, and that's another thing I like is the slight blurriness that is in the picture. It makes the picture feel more surreal. I also like how the trees frame the flooded river. It directs your eye to the river. The line of tress in the background also creates movement in the picture along with the blurriness. I like how everything is really dark and the trees are almost black. I really like this photo taken by Paul Greenberg. I really like this photo for multiple reasons. One reason the the contrast betweent the light-colored VW bug and the darker background. It brings my eye to the photo. I also really like how the car is right in the center of the picture. This picture makes me think that there is light and hope even in dark situations. This picture really catches my eye and makes me want to get a print of this picture and put it in my room. I really like this photo that was taken by Ferdinando Scianna. My favorite part about this picture is the cloud. The dark cloud continues down until it almost touches the guy's head. The guy is also looking up into the clouds so it makes me think of a kind of circle. I also like how the man in this picture is following the thirds rule and that there is two-thirds sky and one-third man. The subject, who is looking up into the sky, has an almost hopeful look on his face which makes me think that he is hoping for something to happen that will turn his day around. The man in this photo is the writer Jorge Luis Borges.
